From Phnom Penh to Poy Yopon (The name of the harbour on the way out to Koh Sdach)

It is now super easy to get to us with Virak Buntham Express, you can even book your tickets online.

The ticket cost $11.50 pr person. you get your own designated seat in a VIP 11 seater van. the trip takes about 5 hours with a food stop
Departue point from Phnom Penh is the Virak Buntham station by Wat Phnom (Japan hospital branch)

There are 2 departures every day 8.00 and 14.00

We higly recommend the early bus at 8.00. you will arrive in good time before dark. With the afternoon bus you will arrive after dark, and then getting a boat across to the island is tricky.

We can also arrange a private taxi for you and your friends

A private taxi cost from $90
(Holidays, requesting a larger van and gas prices may change the price)
The taxi will pick you up from your hotel or airport and it takes around 5 hours to get to Poy Yopon.

From Poy Yopon you take one of the small speedboats to the Island.
The ride over takes 5-10 minutes.
When you share the boat with others the normal price is 5000-10000 Riel or from $5 for your own boat.

The easiest for you is to contact our friend Mr Ritty  012707719. You can visit him in his office by the Riverfront. He can help you arrange shared taxis, that should be about $10. The trip should normally take 2-3 hours.

You can also contact us if you need a private taxi, from $80.

The taxi will take you to Poy Jopon. From there you take one of the small speedboats to the Island. When you share the boat with others the normal price is 5000 Riel or $5 for your own boat.

It can be a tricky thing moving from one island to another in Cambodia. The easiest way to get from Koh Rong/Koh Rong Samloem is to take the ferry back to Sihanoukville and then take a transport by road from there.

note the morning boat will get to Sihanoukville to late for public transportation, so if you choose this transport you will have to leave Koh Rong/Koh Rong Samloem  the previous day and stay the night in Sihanoukville.

There are no ferries from Koh rong/Koh Rong samloem to Koh Sdach.
But there are possibilities to hire a private boat. Prices from$150 and up depending on type of boat, weather, passengers, holidays and more.

For the moment there are no organized buses from Sihanoukville to Koh Sdach. The easiest way is a private taxi from Sihanoukville to Poy Jopon cost about $90. Please let us know if you want a private car minimum 2 days prior.

You can also take local transportation, an adventurous sightseeing.  Take a shared taxi from Psar Leu 8 am to Veil Reighn (from $5).From Veil Reighn you change to a shared mini van with vegetables and things to the market going to Poy Jopon and Koh Sdach ($5) or you might be able to get a seat on the Virak Buntham bus that left Phnom Penh at 8.

Sometimes there is also a shared direct taxi straight to Poi Yopon for $10

It used to be possible to go to Koh Sdach by transport boat, but this boat does no longer run on a steady schedule, and it will be a gamble knowing if the boat will depart and when you will arrive. So we don’t recommend this transportation.
